Piers Chater Robinson - Managing Director

Piers Chater Robinson runs International Theatre and Music Limited and its associated companies, from offices

in London’s Covent Garden.  The artiste management division of IT&M has been representing musical theatre

artistes since the mid eighties.  To date the company's actors have appeared in many major West End and

No.1 touring musical shows in the UK and across the world, including Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, Les

Miserables, Phantom of The Opera, Chicago, My Fair Lady, The Lion King, Cats, Fame, Grease, Buddy, Starlight

Express, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar, Blood Brothers

and many more.

Although specialising primarily in the representation of musical theatre artistes with strong singing and musical

skills, IT&M also represents a smaller number of screen artistes, musical directors, choreographers, dancers and

writers for placement in a wide variety of TV and other media projects.

Piers started his career teaching English, Drama and Music during which time he wrote several musical adaptations

of classical English stories, including an adaptation of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan.  In the mid 1990’s, following approval

by the trustees of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, to whom Barrie had left the Peter Pan rights, Piers’

adaptation was further developed into Peter Pan The Official British Musical.  Piers now holds an international

and worldwide contract with Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital securing international professional and

amateur stage rights of his adaptation including associated merchandising.

In the past 20 years Peter Pan The British Musical has been produced professionally throughout Europe including

London's West End, Ireland, Channel Islands, Scandinavia (breaking a box office record with its first visit, then

again with its second), UK & Netherlands tours.  Many of these professional productions have been directed by

Piers.  In addition there have been 3 major recordings of the work – by EMI, Decca/Columbia and Pigmalion

Records.  Piers has also advised on Peter Pan productions in Canada, Spain and Jersey.

Either in his capacity as author, lyricist, composer or director Piers’ work has broken box office records in at least

10 theatres in the UK and Europe. His adaptations have been seen in every English speaking country worldwide

and translated into many languages.  Piers has also received 2 major awards, one in the Channel Islands and

the 'MAX' award in Spain.

Piers has also written musical adaptations of Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows – ‘The Adventures of Mr. Toad'

[published by Josef Weinberger Ltd in the UK and Music Theatre International in the USA] which has been staged

in London, toured the UK and broken 5 Christmas box office records in regional theatres; Lewis Carroll’s Through

the Looking Glass – ‘Alice’, first presented by The Theatre Royal, Plymouth, and a new musical version of ‘Cinderella’

is currently in development. Other original storylines have also been submitted to IT&M for musical theatre

adaptations and these projects are on-going.

Future productions of Peter Pan are in negotiation throughout Europe including Scandinavia, Germany, the UK

and the Latin American Territories. It is further intended to present a large production in the USA.

In addition to professional presentations, Piers’ works are a favourite with schools, amateur theatre societies

and theatre companies and a large number of productions are performed annually by these forces world-wide.

The London and New York Theatre publishers, Samuel French Ltd, first published Piers Chater Robinson’s musical

of Peter Pan the British Musical in the UK in 1985.  It is now in its third edition and fourth reprint and has sold

thousands of copies in most English speaking countries.
